Original Story…
Google Play might have leaked out the release date for Silent Hill: Ascension early. The video game listing revealed that the game would kick off on October 31, 2023, at 9 PM ET. Today, the CEO behind Genvid Entertainment has confirmed the release date and time. In a new developer update video, we’re getting a little more insight into what we can expect and how exactly Silent Hill: Ascension will play out. It’s a mix of being a video game and a streaming service. Here’s everything we’ve learned from the recent video upload.
Taking to YouTube, Jacob Navok, the CEO of Genvid and executive producer for Silent Hill: Ascension, confirmed that players interested in the project will enjoy its release on October 31, 2023, AT 9 PM ET. This comes just in time for Halloween, and while we still don’t have all the details behind the game, Jacob is alerting followers to think of this as more of an interactive series than a video game. We know that this series will take place at the same time each day for six months.
We don’t know what each day will bring, but there will apparently be a mix of puzzle-solving, choices, and QTEs. It’s said that each day, we’ll have something new to go through where the sum of our choices will be made into an episode weekly. If you miss out on a day, you can go back and watch the events play out from the VODs. With that said, it sounds like we’ll get an entire episode to enjoy each week, and by the time we reach six months, we’ll have made a complete horror series. Because this is mainly centered around player choices, even the developers are unaware of how this series will end.
There are still plenty of questions we have that are not answered. More information about the story and characters will likely come as we near the release at the end of this month. With that said, there is also the confirmation that we’ll get to enjoy Silent Hill: Ascension through web browsers, Android, and Apple iOS. Players can even pre-register right now through the App Store or Google Play to ensure that they have the game readily available on their phones when it becomes available. Otherwise, you can access the interactive stream experience through your web browser. For now, you can check out the recent developer update video in the trailer posted below.
