If you pre-ordered Dark Souls III on the PC (via Steam), you can now preload the game ahead of its release next week. The game comes out on April 12 across the PC, Xbox One and PS4 platforms, so if you want to get in the moment it goes live, you should definitely download the content now.
You’ll need approximately 25GB of space to install the game, which also comes with the pre-release 1.03 patch that fixes some of the issues that early reviews mentioned or showcased during streams.
Xbox One players have been able to pre-load the game since February, but that version came without any of the new updates so expect some new additional downloads if you bought the game on the Xbox One platform. At present, there’s no word on whether PS4 gamers will also be able to preload the game.
Dark Souls III launched in Japan on March 24, so Japanese gamers have been enjoying the game for well over two weeks. One gamer even managed to complete the game in just under two hours. A normal playthrough will last well over a dozen, if not more hours.
