The big expansion that Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been waiting on since its announcement is nearly here. Officially, the game is landing in the marketplace tomorrow. However, if you plan to pick up this expansion and step back into Night City, don’t forget you’ll need the 2.0 update. This update released from CD Projekt Red is revamping and enhancing the gameplay experience. So, if you didn’t prepare for the update, here’s what you need to know.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is the one and only expansion CD Projekt Red is going to release on Cyberpunk 2077. We’re sorry if you were anticipating more, but this is likely the result of the time developers spent updating the game. After its rough launch and even its exodus from the PlayStation digital storefront, the development team had to make a series of patches to ensure that the game met their standards and provided a gameplay experience to entertain fans rather than frustrate them. Likewise, the development team is moving on to a new game engine, so that is another reason why we’re only seeing one expansion release.
With that said Phantom Liberty will require the big 2.0 update. CD Projekt Red took to their X account and clarified what you need to make a note of storage space. We’ll list down what CD Projekt Red alerted followers on X. However, since the 2.0 update, along with the Phantom Liberty expansion coming for just the latest-generation platforms, those on older consoles will need to make the entire upgrade onto the latest supported platforms.
