Xbox Game Pass has become a must-have subscription service if you’re on the Xbox Series X/S platform. With this subscription service, you’re granted access to countless video games to download and play. So if you’re strictly after an extensive collection of video games to enjoy, it’s provided plenty of new and past releases. Likewise, since you’re gaining access to a wide array of video games to play for a monthly fee, you might be more likely to try some titles you’d usually pass on. Of course, a new collection of video games to enjoy comes each month. However, you’ll also find that each month will see the removal of a selection of titles.
Each month we’re given two waves of new video games being added to the service. Meanwhile, this also means that there will be two collections of video games that will be removed. Today we’ve learned what’s coming into the subscription service for the second wave of August. But now we will focus on what video games are being removed from the subscription service. Below you’ll find the games being removed at the end of this month.
Leaving Xbox Game Pass August 31, 2023
- Black Desert
- Commandos 3 – HD Remaster
- Immortality
- Nuclear Throne
- Surgeon Simulator 2
- Tinykin
Of course, you still have some time to enjoy these games. But there’s still an incentive to check them out regardless. If you’ve already played through the games and enjoyed them or want to ensure they are available in your library, then discounts are available. Microsoft offers players a 20% discount on video games that are leaving the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. So you’ll be able to pick up these games a bit cheaper before they are tossed off the service.
If you’re unfamiliar, Xbox Game Pass drops video games after so long. However, what video games will remain on the subscription service will be all of Microsoft’s first-party titles. The only games that might see an exit are if there are licensing issues. However, you’ll find that these games will eventually see a return to the subscription service. This is what happened with Quantum Break when Remedy Entertainment had to deal with the game exiting the service while they dealt with a small licensing issue that forced the game to be removed from digital services and marketplaces.
