It’s hard to believe that AEW Fight Forever has almost been out for a month already. The reason that’s hard to believe is that the game had a troubled development history due largely to the ESRB, and many wondered if it would ever arrive. Sure enough, when it did arrive, it was a “mixed experience,” depending on who you talked to. Those who focused on the gameplay have fond feelings for it, as it reminds them of the wrestling games of old. Those looking for a “more robust experience” were left a little disappointed by the results.
Regardless of what you felt, one thing that is clear about AEW Fight Forever is that it will be getting DLC, and it could be getting it for a long time. But the question is, what else will we get from the game outside of the already-announced packs?
Given the state of the internet, it’s not hard to imagine various people coming out with “insider information” about who or what will arrive in the title next. To that end, THQ Nordic went onto Twitter, yes, we’re still calling it that here on GameRanx, and made the following post:
While it may seem “basic” for them to do that, there are plenty of rumors and speculation going around for other titles that are either decidedly untrue or are so “uncertain” that it’d be foolish to put your trust in it until better confirmation comes out. THQ Nordic had apparently seen these and wanted to put an end to things before they got out of hand.
But you might think, “Well, what do we know is coming to the game next?” Well, we know two key things. First, we know that a new game mode, Stadium Stampede, will eventually arrive. It’ll bring the battle royale mode to a true wrestling game for the first time ever.
Thirty players will fight each other in a massive stadium, with all weapons available, in an attempt to take out everyone and be the last one standing. That’s a big contrast to what the actual Stadium Stampede events were, but we don’t think players will mind.
The other thing we know is coming are DLC packs featuring new wrestlers like FTR, The Bunny, and Keith Lee.
Future DLC packs are likely to happen soon with more “modern updates” to the roster to ensure that their more current lineup is represented in the title.
But don’t trust what you see online until you hear about it from official sources!
