FromSoftware fans were surprised during The Game Awards 2022 that the studio was digging out an older franchise. Armored Core is back, and next month, we’ll be diving into the latest game installment, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. Meanwhile, if you were wondering just what to expect in terms of gameplay, we haven’t had much showcased to us. But that’s changing tomorrow as the development team is finally giving us a new gameplay highlight. Don’t expect a very lengthy showcase experience. Instead, it will be just over ten minutes in length.
FromSoftware took to the official Armored Core Twitter account to unveil that Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will feature a gameplay briefing at 9:45 AM. Unfortunately, that’s the extent of what was confirmed on Twitter, so we’ll have to wait for the actual broadcast to see what exactly the studio plans to show us during this highlight. A big component of Armored Core is the customization we have to tweak out mechs. That might actually catch some newcomers by surprise with just how much players will be able to adjust with their mechs. Meanwhile, it would also be nice to see some of the actual combat mechanics for when we’re in battle, both long-range and close-up encounters.
At any rate, we’ll have to wait and see what this twelve-minute showcase will reveal to fans of the franchise, along with those who are just getting into the IP. We know that players can view this presentation on both YouTube and Twitch. Meanwhile, it’s also noted that language subtitles will be available on YouTube if you enable closed captions. Of course, this wasn’t the only recent showing we had of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.
Armored Core fans were recently given a story trailer for the game which highlighted our protagonist recovering from a brutal battle. We know that this upcoming game will follow a war as corporations seek out a new energy source called Coral. However, the first attempt to acquire this energy source resulted in a cataclysmic event that caused the planet of Rubicon 3 and the star system to become engulfed with flames. Players are taking the role of C4-621, an augmented human who acts as an independent mercenary and Armored Core pilot that takes on odd jobs from corporations to resistance groups.
Currently, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is set to launch on August 25, 2023. When the game does release, you’ll find it available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
