Elden Ring is one of the biggest video game titles to release last year. The talented folks at FromSoftware delivered a thrilling open-world action RPG that fans still enjoy playing over a year later. While some players might be waiting on the expansion to launch for this game, Shadow of the Erdtree, others might be hopeful this title is coming to Xbox Game Pass. If you were hesitant about purchasing Elden Ring, you might have a new way to enjoy this RPG. A new tweet has fans wondering whether Elden Ring might be on its way to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
This comes from a tweet by Sarah Bond, who is the corporate vice president of Xbox. Taking to Twitter, the individual reached out to their viewers and teased a small little hint of a game with a couple of emojis followed by the Xbox hashtag. It was later revealed that the trivia tweet that was sent out to her followers was for the game Elden Ring. That has left some fans wondering as to if this tease was a hint of Elden Ring coming to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. But so far, there hasn’t been anything officially confirmed quite yet.
We already have the second wave of games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month. Those titles, if you have yet to see them, will be listed below. Unfortunately, Elden Ring wasn’t added to the mix, but that’s not to say there’s not a hint of what’s coming already next month. Perhaps this might be a bit of a heavy-hitting addition to Xbox Game Pass for the month of August. After all, September will likely focus on Bethesda’s Starfield release, which will generate quite a few new subscribers to Xbox Game Pass along with renewals to the service for those that might have found their subscriptions expired.
At any rate, we’ll have to wait and see if Elden Ring makes a surprise appearance for the Xbox Game Pass subscription service or if it’s one of the titles added into the mix during the first wave of August 2023 additions. Meanwhile, in other news related to Xbox Game Pass, we know that Xbox Live Gold is on its way out. Microsoft is transitioning the service into a new tier for Xbox Game Pass called Game Pass Core. This brings in all the features from Xbox Live Gold, but you will no longer see new monthly games. Instead, taking its place will be a small collection of free games to enjoy from Game Pass, with new additions being added two to three times per year.
