For those left wanting by the first part of The Witcher Season 3, we have some good news for you on multiple fronts. First, the final part of Season 3 will arrive on July 27th! That means you only have to wait two weeks for everything to be here! But the other thing to be grateful for is the first trailer for the second half has arrived! While we won’t spoil anything that happens in it or the first half of season 3, we will say that it will get your heart racing in one form or another!
As we said, we won’t spoil what happened in the first part of Season 3 for those of you who haven’t seen it. So we’ll give you a general overview of all that’s happened up to this point. Geralt of Rivia spent the last two seasons trying to avoid one destiny and then embracing another. After various events have forced him to look after the young princess Ciri, he’ll have to both train her to use the powers that are buried deep inside her and protect her from those who wish her harm.
As we learned at the end of the second season, that includes her own father, who is not only alive but responsible for the war that has ravaged the realm, among other atrocities that are causing ripple effects throughout the species.
Another element here is Yennifer, who has been Geralt’s biggest love and biggest enemy in certain respects. At the end of Season 2, they came to an understanding that they can’t be together but must help Ciri, given the power she wields. But can they overcome this hurdle between them to do what is necessary?
You can watch the part 2 trailer below. But there are spoilers within for the first part, so don’t check it out if you’re not up to speed!
The other reason that The Witcher Season 3 Part 2 is so important in the eyes of fans is that the episodes will mark the last ones with Henry Cavill as Geralt. He departed the series once Season 3 wrapped and will be replaced by Liam Hemsworth. Many are unsure of how this will all be handled, and many fear that this is a sign of decline for the live-action adaptation.
The people behind the scenes seem confident that Liam can do the job and the show can continue, but only time will tell.
