Alan Wake fans were overjoyed with the announcement of an Alan Wake 2. Remedy Entertainment seemed to hold this game back for a long time. Finally, over a decade later, we’ll get the continuation of this epic storyline and see just where Alan has been all the years. Of course, we can now mark down on our calendar just when we’ll be seeing Alan Wake 2 again. It looks like gameplay footage will be revealed to the public during this year’s Summer Game Fest.
Summer Game Fest is quickly taking over the spot of E3. With the E3 expo canceled this year, more attention is turned toward Summer Game Fest and what showcases it will bring to the masses. Fortunately, we know that Remedy Entertainment will be present to highlight their next big showcase when it comes to Alan Wake 2. The official Alan Wake Twitter account posted a tweet to their followers alerting them to tune into the Summer Game Fest event.
Sam Lake and Geoff Keighley will present fans with a gameplay video look into Alan Wake 2 live on stage. We’re not sure just how in-depth the gameplay will be, but at the very least, we know that we’ll finally get some new footage for this game. Furthermore, it will be interesting to see if we get a look into the gameplay of both Alan Wake and the new protagonist character for this game, Saga Anderson. Both of which will be playable characters.
If you don’t recall, Alan Wake 2 will feature two playable characters. We’ll get to step back into the role of Alan Wake, but outside of his world, we’ll also get a chance to take on a new character. Saga Anderson is an FBI agent that gets sent on a special case located in Bright Falls. It’s Saga’s job to uncover a new mystery behind a series of ritualistic murders.
Furthermore, we know that the gameplay this time around for Alan Wake 2 will be survival horror based. Of course, we’ll get to see the gameplay in action this Thursday during the Summer Game Fest. Players will want to tune in online on June 8, 2023, starting at 3 PM EDT to catch the event live. Meanwhile, Alan Wake 2 is set to launch on October 17, 2023. When the game does release, you’ll find it available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
