Respawn Entertainment Is Already Developing Their Next Game After Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

May 2, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

A small Skunkworks team is seeking out something new.

Respawn Entertainment has been a rather big hit development studio for EA. After first releasing the iconic Titanfall mech fighter franchise, it wasn’t long before the team continued to find more gems to release. Thanks to Respawn Entertainment, we have games like Apex Legends and the Star Wars Jedi franchise. But now it seems that even though they just put out Star Wars Jedi: Survivor out into the marketplace, a small team is charting out to find their next heavy hitter.

Today we’re learning that a Skunkworks team is working on another project. This comes from Axios, who managed to speak with Steve Fukuda. If you’re not familiar with the developer by name, Steve Fukuda is a game director for Respawn Entertainment who has had help brought out the Titanfall series. But that’s not the game apparently being worked on just yet. For those who might have missed out, the CEO of Respawn Entertainment mentioned their interest in going back to Titanfall to deliver a third installment. But at the moment, the studio doesn’t have anything currently in the works.

So while we know that this next project won’t be a Titanfall 3, the Skunkworks team is likely striving to bring out something completely new. We just have to wait and see what the studio ends up delivering, as, again, they have had a rather successful streak of video game releases. But with that said, I don’t anticipate resources being removed from their popular battle royale video game title, Apex Legends. Instead, this game should continue to thrive after Respawn Entertainment established a new studio.

Earlier this year, we got word that a third studio was established under Respawn Entertainment that would help support Apex Legends. So that title should continue to see new exciting content and updates going forward. For now, Respawn Entertainment is still working on fixing up their latest release into the marketplace, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. In fact, PC players just received an update for the game, but that still seems to bring out some issues for players.

At any rate, if you’re looking for more insight into the game, you can check out our official Before You Buy video coverage in the video we have embedded below. Overall, the game follows the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Players will once again step into the role of Jedi Knight Cal as he continues his efforts to fight off the Galactic Empire.
