We are about a month from the beginning of a new era. Specifically, on April 14th, a brand-new Pokemon anime will arrive. Hearing such a thing wouldn’t be that odd of a statement initially. After all, for the last 25 years, new anime featuring Pokemon has been popping up regularly. But this time, it’s different. The main anime that featured Ash Ketchum and his dream of being a Pokemon Master is about to come to a close in Japan. That means that this new anime will feature new characters, new journeys, new dreams, and so much more!
The Pokemon Company has been slowly teasing what this new anime will be like, and now, we have two new pieces of media to showcase to highlight how special this anime will be. So first up, let’s talk about the trailer for the new Pokemon anime.
You’ll see it in the tweet below, and through the trailer, we get new glimpses of the two new protagonists, Liko and Roy. Unlike before, they highlight how each has something special that makes them unique. For Liko, she has a mysterious pendant that might have special powers. As for Roy, he has an equally mysterious Pokeball that no one has witnessed before.
We also hear the voices of the two. Liko notes that she’ll do her best to find what she’s looking for, while Roy proclaims that he wants to fight the “Pokemon from the legends!” So perhaps we’re getting a glimpse into what their paths will be.
They also showcase the newly revealed Friede and his partner, Captain Pikachu! What’s important to note about Friede is that he’s a Pokemon Professor! So if he’s traveling alongside Liko and Roy, which is implied in the trailer, that would be a first for the series!
Through the trailer, we see some never-before-seen footage, including some Pokemon that debuted in the recent generation! That leads us to the reveal of the poster for the series:
As you can see, Liko and Roy get a good spotlight, and Pokemon from various generations are there, too, including Rayquaza floating high in the sky above them all!
While there are still plenty of questions about this Pokemon anime, we’ll get at least some answers soon. In Japan, the anime will debut with an hour-long special on April 14th. So hopefully, we’ll continue to learn things about the characters and what they’re like before the premiere!
