Battlefield fans are getting a new major update for the latest mainline installment of the franchise. Of course, Battlefield 2042 didn’t have a great launch, and the development team went back to work in hopes of bringing things around. However, developers are hoping fans try the game out since it launched to see how things are currently. In fact, the new major update is making some more significant changes to the game. Some of which we already knew well ahead of this announcement. But today, patch notes have been released for the upcoming update.
If you’re familiar with the updates that Battlefield 2042 would receive, you know patch notes are available the day before the update release. That’s the first significant change we’ll see going forward, along with this 3.2.0 update. Instead of bringing the game patch notes out the day before, the developers will instead offer them a week in advance. This would give fans enough time to see what is coming to the game. Although, there are still some last-minute chances that an update will get pushed back. But according to the patch notes post, the developers will continue to update players on the release date if it changes.
One of the major changes we’re going to see with this update is the fact that we’re going to find specialists to get turned into classes. The class system is coming back, so you’ll find Assault, Engineer, Recon, and Support make a return. Additionally, you’ll be able to customize your class with class equipment and weapon proficiencies. That comes with the new map rework; this update brings out Breakaway for fans to enjoy.
Additionally, there are some new weapons and new equipment. For weapons, the game will bring in the M39 EMR, MTAR-21, and PP-2000. As for equipment, we know that this update is bringing new suppressor, long-range scope, and thermal scopes. Of course, if you want the entire rundown of the patch notes, you can check it out right here. Meanwhile, this 3.2.0 update is coming out, but if you haven’t played Battlefield 2042 or picked it up since it launched, this update may help persuade you. As mentioned, the Battlefield 2042 game launch wasn’t a massive hit initially, but the developers have continued to turn out new updates to bring things around for players.
For players who have yet to do so, Battlefield 2042 is currently available to pick up on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
