2023 is looking to be an excellent year for the video game industry. In particular, the year is looking to be quite great for Xbox video game releases. As long as there are no delays that push several games out of the 2023 calendar year, we should see game releases for just about everyone this year, but there is still plenty of time to further hype up and market these upcoming releases. We’re just at the start of the year, but we already have a stream announcement for Microsoft. This stream is slated for the end of this month, but we’ve been alerted that there won’t be any sign of the highly anticipated Starfield RPG.
It has been rumored that Microsoft will showcase its stream this month. This was said to highlight several games, and today we finally received the official announcement. Microsoft is bringing out its Developer_Direct livestream on January 25, 2023. This would be a stream that brings out several developers to highlight their upcoming releases. Included in the mix of video games to be highlighted are The Elder Scrolls Online, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, and Redfall. But if you were hoping that Bethesda’s Starfield would be showcased in some capacity, you’re of luck.
Within the Xbox Wire blog post announcing the Developer_Direct stream, Microsoft noted that Bethesda’s Starfield would not be present. Instead, they will hold their own standalone stream later to highlight the game further and provide new details for players. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any mention of when this stream would take place. But that’s likely a stream that will be marketed for the public well before it’s set to air online. So while it would have been nice to see more of Starfield this month, it’s at least nice knowing that Microsoft and Bethesda are dedicating an entire stream event to this game.
Currently, we don’t have a release date for Starfield. We know that the developers are pushing to get this game out into the marketplace in the first half of this year. So we shouldn’t be too far away from the stream event Microsoft mentioned in their Xbox Wire blog post, but again we’ll have to wait for the official stream date to be announced. Of course, when Starfield is released into the marketplace, you can find it available exclusively for the Microsoft Xbox Series X/S platforms and the PC platform. In the meantime, you can check out the game trailer for Starfield in the video we have embedded above.
