Destiny 2 sees the return of its festive The Dawning event today. The event comes along for the rounding off of the year and is free for all Destiny 2 players to take part in. As usual, players will be able to take part in the game’s holiday celebrations with a range of gifts to give out and items to collect.
Players will find Eva Levante in the Tower once more, ready to help players whip up some tasty festive treats using some exciting ingredients. Once you’ve rustled up some festive cookies for your favourite Guardians, you’ll be able to hand them out as gifts, spreading your own brand of holiday cheer around the solar system. The Dawning is part of the game’s recently-launched Season of the Seraph, which brings a whole host of new content, missions and challenges into the game ahead of the release of Destiny 2: Lightfall. Players can check out everything that’s on offer as part of this year’s festive The Dawning event thanks to a new trailer that just released.
This year, players will be able to take part in a new challenge in the form of the Event Card. As part of this, you’ll be able to undertake a range of event-based challenges that will earn some pretty nice rewards. These include an emblem, a shader, and an Exotic Ghost at the base level. The Event Card can also be upgraded using Silver in order to unlock even better rewards. These include another Exotic Ghost, an Exotic Sparrow, a new emote, and additional special items. Completing the Event Card will also give players some additional prestige in the form of the “Star Baker” title, as well as granting players the Seal.
In keeping with the wintry theme, players will also be able to take on others in snowball fights with Stasis-infused snowballs. There’s also Stay Frosty PR7, a new Legendary Pulse Rifle, for players to earn as part of The Dawning. The Eververse store will also be packed out with The Dawning-themed cosmetics and new armour ornament sets for each class for players who wish to treat themselves to a Christmas gift in Destiny 2. Season of the Seraph will run until the launch of the next expansion Destiny 2: Lightfall, which was recently revealed to be releasing on February 28 next year.
In other news, Destiny 2 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s crossover is also now live for players to get their hands on a variety of themed items in both games.
