Following a delightful trail of teasers leading up to today’s release, The Flame in the Flood is now available for download. This charming little survival title, the first game from fledgling Boston-based studio The Molasses Flood, pits the player versus the wild as they tackle hostile critters, turbulent waters, and the ever present threat of starvation. Craft new items and raft upgrades to tackle the rapids, make food and traps as you float down the raging, procedurally generated river, and above all, try not to fall prey, be it to the animals or the elements.
Previous trailers for The Flame in the Flood revealed plenty of good tips for how to survive the woods, from dealing with untamed beasts, to hunting and gathering vittles, to avoiding rocks as you white water raft your way down the river. Give those a look to get an idea of what the gameplay is like before plunking down your digital dollars. The game costs $19.99 on all its platforms but is 10% off on Steam until March 2, coming out to $17.99.
The Flame in the Flood is out now on PC, Xbox One, and Mac.
