The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Next-Gen Update Confirmed For December

November 14, 2022 by Dennis Patrick

Get ready to dive right back into The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

There are a few notable RPGs that will just stand the test of time. One of those games comes from CD Projekt Red. The Witcher franchise has thrived over the years, but players just can’t get enough of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It was a massive success, and for years, gamers have either replayed the game or stumbled upon it for the first time. Either way, it’s a game that most might be jumping right back into next month. Today, we’re finding out that the next-generation update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming in December.

The announcement came via a tweet from the official Witcher franchise Twitter account. CD Projekt Red unveiled that the next-gen update is set for December 14, 2022. That’s great news for those who want to get another go with the game but also want to make use of the new console platforms. But what’s great to hear about this game update is that it will be free to everyone that already owns The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. So if you already have the game and are on the latest-generation platforms, you’re already set to go.

The next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming on December 14th, free for everyone who already owns the game.

Fortunately, we’re going to get even more information about this update next week. The development team over at CD Projekt Red has confirmed that developers will reveal more details and gameplay footage during the REDstreams next week. The stream can find that on their official Twitch CD Projekt Red channel. We’re sure that this will be a welcomed stream by players all around the world who are eager to see what the gameplay will be like using the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, along with high-end PC hardware.

Either way, this is far from the last we’ll see new Witcher content from the development team. While we are getting a next-gen release for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we know that a new installment is in the works. The developers have confirmed that the next installment to The Witcher franchise is in development, but we’re still likely far out from any new information on the upcoming game. In the meantime, this update might help kill some time until CD Projekt Red’s next game content hits the marketplace. Outside of The Witcher, we know the developers are also going through the expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 called Phantom Liberty. While we don’t have a specific release date for the DLC, we know it’s slated for sometime in 2023.
