Tales of Symphonia Remastered Gets February Release Date

November 9, 2022 by Todd Black

A classic game for a classic system.

Some video games stand the test of time no matter how old they get. In the Gamecube era, Nintendo got a game to their system called Tales of Symphonia. The game was the latest in the beloved RPG franchise, and it’s praised as one of the best RPGs ever made. Everything about the game was fantastic, from its graphics to its anime-style cutscenes, the plot, the combat system, the characters, etc. The main character in Lloyd Irving is one that many fans want to see in Super Smash Bros one day. Regardless, fans were excited to hear at the last Nintendo Direct that Tales of Symphonia Remastered was coming to the Switch.

Today, a new trailer for Tales of Symphonia Remastered dropped, further highlighting what new and old fans can expect from the game. The title is set within Sylvarant, a world where Mana is vital for all life. There is a legend within the lands that a “Chosen One” would eventually come to save them all and restore the world to where it needs to be.

Through Lloyd and his allies, you’ll set out on a journey to save the world and go on multiple adventures along the way. So if you’ve never played the game before, you’ll be able to enjoy the beloved RPG like never before. The remaster is going to be true to its name. The team at Bandai Namco promised after the initial announcement that the game would get both visual and gameplay enhancements to improve upon what was in the Nintendo Gamecube version. That doesn’t mean it’s a full-on remake like other games we’ve seen as of late, but it’ll be an improvement, no less.

The announcement that it’ll come out on February 17th might be the biggest shock. The beginning of 2023 is already shaping into another blockbuster block of titles from 1st and 3rd party developers. Not unlike what the month of October was in some ways. Just for Nintendo, they’ll release Fire Emblem Engage, Octopath Traveler II, and more within a month. So gamers might need to mind their wallets or ensure that they start saving money to enjoy all the gaming experiences headed their way.

No matter what, though, Tales of Symphonia Remastered will be an excellent addition to the 2023 roster of titles, so you shouldn’t miss out on it.
