Get Your Gameplay Tips For The Division Open Beta On Xbox One Right Here

February 20, 2016 by Holly Green

New York, New York, it’s a…disease-infested, chaotic, terrible town.

It’s the second day of the open beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division and Ubisoft has released a video full of advice for testers who are just getting started on the game. They cover a number of basic features of combat and survival in post-disaster New York City, six in all, which are summarized below but can also be seen in the video above.

Note that these tips are for the Xbox One and are thus configured to the Xbox One controller.

The Division is a cover-based shooter, so you should be constantly looking for new places to hide and items to hide behind so you are protected as you shoot at hostile enemies. You will be able to carry three weapons, a primary and secondary gun and a sidearm, which you can switch out by pressing the Y button. A double tap will switch to your side arm.

The Division is also an RPG and thus the player character’s skills and how they are used to help the team are very important. You can support two different skills at a time, which can be changed in the Abilities section of the main menu, and they are triggered with LB and RB.

Grenades are a great way to break up clusters of enemies. They can be used by tapping the Left button on the D-pad and using the right stick to aim. Holding down the Left button the D-pad will allow you to cycle through the types of grenades and choose one.

Medkits can be used in battle by tapping the Right button the D-pad.

Use the augmented world map to track down key areas by pressing the View button. Navigate with the Left and Right sticks and press A to set a target location.

The open beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division will continue on through February 21 on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.
