In the continuing, delightful parade of characters added to Super Mario Maker as costumes, a newcomer has been revealed. Nope, that’s not Sailor Venus from the Sailor Moon series. It’s Chitoge Kirisaki from the popular manga and anime series Nisekoi!
The Event Course, which was designed by Nisekoi author Naoshi Komi, will split into two paths beckoning you to choose between two characters, Chitoge Kirisaki or another “promised girl” and main character in the series, Kosaki Onodera. An official overview depicting the specially-themed course can be seen in the video above. Completing it will award you the Chitoge Kirisaki costume.
Not familiar with Chitoge Kirisaki? That’s okay. Nisekoi is one of those series that, while popular in Japan, hasn’t necessarily seen the same success in the West. However, if you’d like to catch up, it is distributed by Viz Media under the name Nisekoi: False Love and has been published in their digital magazine Weekly Shonen Jump since 2012.
Other costumes to join Super Mario Maker in the past have included the Kanto starter Pokémon trio of Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander added last week, and characters from Star Fox and Monster Hunter. Super Mario Maker was also the recipient of the Family Game Of The Year Award last night at the D.I.C.E. 2016 Awards. Former Nintendo president Satoru Iwata was also posthumously awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, which was accepted by Reggie Fils-Aime on his behalf.
