You know, as far as generating publicity goes, you could do a whole lot worse. This is actually pretty cool.
For the upcoming release of Far Cry Primal, Ubisoft commissioned master carver and stone mason Nick Roberson to create this “man cave”, consisting of a PlayStation 4, Dualshock 4 controllers, pizza boxes, a beer can, TV, and coffee table. They are all carved from Fletcher Band sandstone. Roberson, an artist with 20 years of experience, went freehand to make these stunning pieces, a process you can get an inside glimpse of in the video provided by Ubisoft, posted above. Of the project Roberson says,
“This project was a great challenge for me and I really enjoyed seeing the modern and techy items come together in this natural form. The buttons of the controllers were certainly tricky but I’m delighted with the final results and the fantastic way they’ve been collated for the shoot.”
Only flaw? Needs more beer cans. That pizza to beer ratio is just troubling. See more photos in our gallery below.
Far Cry Primal will release on February 23, 2016, on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A PC release will follow on March 1. In the lead-up to release Ubisoft has released many videos to get fans primed for this prehistoric adventure, including a video of the first hour of gameplay, and a survival series of videos that covers many of the new items, weapons, animals, and abilities that will be making their Stone Age debut to the series.
