DICE has announced that Battlefield 3 will be getting a "significant" patch this week on the PC, with console updates to follow shortly after.
In a post on the official Battlefield Blog, the developer briefly outlined the changes, which include "improved polish, stability, weapons balancing, squad control functionality, user interface enhancements, and several feature enhancements that address feedback the community has provided to date." Odds are good that that last bundle includes the brighter-than-the-sun tactical light, which DICE has already promised to tone down. The developer also confirmed that the "negative mouse acceleration" that irked many players will be removed entirely by the update.
The delay between the PC patch and its 360/PS3 counterparts has been attributed to the consoles' more rigorous certification processes, which require a little extra lead time. Rather than hold off on giving the fixes to its PC playerbase, DICE has instead decided to get the update out to everyone as soon as possible.
