Overwatch 2 has finally been released for players all over the world after many trials getting the game available, many players are catching out all the different features the game has…while some features have been removed like, “looking for a group” has been removed. However, today, we will be discussing Overwatch 2‘s Custom Games feature, which is a fan favorite in the original Overwatch which closed for the release of the new Overwatch 2.
The game does in fact still have the custom game modes, this feature lets players participate in matches with other users or create one on their own. Some players aren’t seeing the option and if this is happening for you, you need to play several of the Unranked matches until the “Custom Games” will be unlocked for you. When that feature opens, you can explore many different mods and design your own personalized matches within Overwatch 2.
Within Custom Games, there is a “Browse” feature that gives you four options, Popular, Favorites, Recent, and All Games. When you open the Popular tab, players can see which game modes are popular and/or trending in Overwatch 2 during that time. The mode that many people play, even in the original Overwatch is called Gun Game V2, which is where you play as a set list of heroes and after making a kill within the game, you get switched to another character. That’s just an example of some of what you can do within this mode. If you find a game mode that you enjoy, you can add it to your Favorites, or go back to your Recent tab to find all the past games you’ve played. Then, the final option, which is All Games to find many more games from other users.
Finally, if you’d like to enjoy the game with your friends, you can create a game and fully customize everything you want in the match. You can select the Presets, Mode, Heroes, Lobby, and Maps. However, in this new Overwatch, there is no Workshop in this version, but it will be unlocked once the developers of the game add it in an update, so be on the lookout for that.
Overwatch 2 Doesn’t Have The “Looking For A Group” Feature
In Overwatch 2, many players have noticed that the “looking for group” option that used to be at the bottom of the screen when in the main menu is gone. This is upsetting for many players as they used that feature every time they played to quickly get into matches…however, players will now have to rely on other places like Discord, Guilded, Reddit, or other places that allow you to voice chat with people to join in groups together. The developers have this feature marked as retired so we doubt it will be returning, even in a different way.
