McFarlance Toys has revealed they are making the official toys for Titanfall 2. Along the way, they confirmed the toys and game will be arriving this Winter 2016.
The Titanfall toys will stand seven inches tall, and have an average of fifteen points of articulation. As is characteristic of McFarlane Toys, the toys will boast a high level of detail, and come with several weapons and accessories. McFarlane Toys also revealed that the Titanfall toyline will be part of their new Collector Box Program.
McFarlane Toys has been making highly detailed figures since 1994. They have made many toys based on video games and game related licenses, including Halo, Assassin’s Creed, Metal Gear, and The Walking Dead. The CEO of McFarlane Toys, comics creator, and also the man who made Spawn, Todd McFarlane, had this to say about the announcement in a press release:
This is a perfect fit. McFarlane [Toys] was created so I could make cool stuff just like this. Without saying too much about the new game… You’re not going to believe where we can take this.
Titanfall 2 has been planned as far back as March 2014, but it was not until recently that Respawn shared more tangible details about the project. Last month, EA confirmed to investors that the sequel would be releasing this year. Most recently, writer Jesse Stern has elaborated on Respawn’s multimedia plans for the franchise, including it’s science meets fantasy premise.
If the toys are releasing at the same time as the game, it is likely that the toys themselves, by their very nature, could leak or spoil important scenario and story based details.
