Guilded is slowly taking the world by storm and just might be becoming the new Discord. Guilded is a platform that is super similar to Discord in regards to designing a server based on your favorite game, your steaming genre, your community…or even your comic book club! However, one of the big differences between Discord and Guilded is that…Guilded is free.
Today, Guilded took to Twitter to talk about their latest update that is coming this fall. We are going to go over it a little bit today and see what there is to look forward to in this new update. First off, let’s take a look at the tweet Guilded posted.
So far from the tweet, we see we are getting a deep search, your events, and file uploads. Now, let’s continue by taking a look at what was announced and mentioned in Guilded’s blog post they uploaded earlier today.
Shallow Search and Deep Search
First things first, the search is finally here, and it’ll be coming with two filters, Shallow search and Deep search. The Shallow search is now available to be used in the header of your server, which will allow you to search channels, events, documents, users, and more within your server. It’ll make it easier for you to find what you are looking for and get there quickly.
The Deep search can be opened by entering from the Shallow search or pressing CTRL + F. This Deep search will help filter through the content of messages across your entire server, which will make it easy to find a message without going through each channel.
Guilded Calenders
Guilded already has many ways to organize gaming events, movie nights, or anything else with its scheduling options. But now, the calendar channels will be getting an update. It hasn’t always been very easy to keep track of your events, especially when you have a ton across your severe all at once, so now Guilded has made this easier for us.
The new Events section allows you to see all of your events from your profile. You are also able to filter through your calendars by the server and the RSVP status as well.
Sharing Bigger Images Across Guilded
One thing that is great about Guilded is that they allow you to upload bigger files than Discord for free! It is a given that communities and friends love sharing large file memes, videos, pictures, and more. And now, Guilded has expanded its file types from video and images to an array of over 75 file types. This includes audio, archive, and project formats. Isn’t that amazing? Now you and your friends can share any more than before! They have raised the file upload limit from 200MB to 500MB all still being for free.
