During today’s Nintendo Direct, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse was announced for Nintendo Switch. This is the first time this installment has been released in the west, as it was previously exclusive to Japan. A trailer has been reuploaded here.
Mask of the Lunar Eclipse was released on Nintendo Wii in 2008 to positive reviews from outlets such as Famitsu. Lunar Eclipse follows the story of Ruka Minazuki and a group of girls as they explore Rougetsu Island, using the series’ staple camera mechanics to prevent hordes of spirits from getting their hands on them.
Last year, a port of the Wii U exclusive, Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water was released on Nintendo Switch and other platforms.
