Path Of Exile’s Latest Expansion Is On The Path To Launch

Path of Exile

When we last wrote about Path of Exile, its free Ascendancy expansion had been announced with an early 2016 release date. Today, we’re excited to announce that Ascendancy officially drops at 12:00 pm PST on March 4.

For those unfamiliar, Path of Exile: Ascendancy is about the Lord’s Labyrinth, a maze of deadly challenges. Players must use items and skills to make it out of the Labyrinth.

Emperor Izaro, the game’s antagonist, puts the player through six different types of traps. Because the Labyrinth is always changing, there are always new puzzles to uncover within. Izaro is the game’s boss, who the player must fight repeatedly throughout the Labyrinth. For fans of fantasy- and magic-based games, Path of Exile is worth checking out.

Here are some of Ascendancy‘s other features:

  • There are 19 new Ascendancy classes, each with its own additional Ascendancy Skill Tree to master.
  • Izaro’s power can also be used to infuse items with powerful magic. These enchantments trigger specific skills and effects to occur on certain conditions. Each time the Labyrinth is completed, you may add one of these enchantments to an item.
  • Ascendancy introduces a set of devastating new skills and support gems to customize your character with.
  • Featuring dozens of Unique Items and Divination Cards designed by Path of Exile’s community, Ascendancy adds tantalizing power for players to discover.

Path of Exile is free to play and available on PC. The game does feature microtransactions, but according to studio Grinding Gear Games, microtransactions are not necessary in order to play the game successfully. Path of Exile has been available since 2013 and features over 13 million players worldwide.
