Path of Exile: Ascendancy Will Entrap You In Early 2016

November 21, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

The crafty Emperor Izaro waits for you to enter his labyrinth to find him.

Grinding Gear Games has teased what’s coming next for Path of Exile with a new trailer for Path of Exile: Ascendancy.

Emperor Izaro has laid out a mazelike fortress in Wraeclast, to test your hardiest characters and reward you if you survive. The battles start with the Trials of Ascendancy, with elaborate puzzle rooms filled with six types of traps.

If you can survive the Trials, you can make your way into the Lord’s Labyrinth. The Lord Izaro is no god but man, and his devious mind has crafted a labyrinth that changes every time you enter.

Izaro awaits you within his creation, much like the Cretan Bull who once terrorized Minos. Unlike that bull, Izaro is no fool, and his attacks against you will be based on what he’s seen you do in your earliest battles in his maze.

Surviving these trials will net you access to as much as nineteen Ascendancy classes, each with their own skill trees. Of course, you will also earn new skills and items, as well as enchantments, which you can apply on any items you like.

Path of Exile: Ascendancy will be coming free to PC early 2016.
