Fallout 4 Guide: Have You Called 1-888-4VAULT-TEC?

November 13, 2015 by Olga Lexell

Bethesda has included a neat little easter egg.

If you’ve been playing Fallout 4 over the last few days, you may have noticed the number 1-888-4VAULT-TEC on a poster in your home. If you call the number (which is really 1-888-482-8588), you’ll hear a fun little recording:

Thank you for calling Vault-Tec, your first choice in post-nuclear survival. We’re sorry, but due to unexpectedly high call volume all representatives are currently busy. Please stay on the line and someone will be with you as soon as possible. There are 901,000,000 callers in front of you. Estimated wait time: 78,643 hours. Thank you for calling Vault-Tec. Have a wonderful day!

The number of callers and estimated wait time may vary depending on when you call. It’s unclear yet whether this message will change with time or whether it may lead to any kind of clues about the game.

Keep your eyes peeled for any other similar easter eggs and let us know in the comments section if you find anything interesting!

While you’re at it, check out some of our Fallout 4 gameplay guides: increasing inventory space, changing your field of view, skipping the intro video, unlocking frame rate, which settings to turn on or off, basic and advanced console commands, and disabling mouse acceleration.
