Fallout 4 Sales Set Day 1 Record On Steam

November 11, 2015 by Carlos Chism

The game has sold over one million copies on the service so far

Steam Spy, a website that tracks sales and usage metrics for games on Valve’s digital platform, said on Twitter that Fallout 4 sold 1.2 million copies in the first 24 hours. This number is only for copies bought on Steam. This breaks the day-one sales record for any non-Valve game in Steam’s history. The game also broke records yesterday when it had over 450,000 concurrent players on the service, the highest number for any non-valve game. The game also simultaneously had 250,000 people watching it on Twitch.

Fallout 4 had around 1.2M owners on Steam on day 1. It will take 3 full days for my site graphs to catch up, sorry.

Fallout 4 not only got ~450K people playing it simultaneously on PC, but also ~250K people watching it on Twitch at the same time.

As the site also notes, the day-one conversion rates for Fallout 4 from previous Fallout game owners are high: 17% from Fallout New Vegas, along with 22% and 23 % for Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, respectively. Skyrim also had a conversion rate of 8%.
