Viewers were treated to a new look at the upcoming action RPG adventure Flintlock: The Siege Of Dawn during today’s Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase. The game, which is set amidst a world ruled by “the old gods”, looks to be an action-packed combination of magic, gunplay and axe-wielding and we’ve now been given both an inside look and a release window.
The game, which is being developed by A44, the studio behind Ashen, was previously thought to be releasing this year. However, the new gameplay trailer showcased during the event has confirmed that the game will now be ready to launch sometime in early 2023. You can check out the new trailer right here to get a feel for the action.
In Flintlock: The Siege Of Dawn, players will be stepping into the shoes of Coalition army fighter Nor Vanek as she battles to defeat the armies of the undead alongside her trusty fox companion Enki. With humanity on the brink of extinction, there’s everything to fight for, as the new clip shows. Viewers were able to get a first look at the richly detailed combination of magic, fox antics and satisfying-looking axe-based combat in the new trailer.
With lots of hype already over on social media, it seems that players are pretty excited about both the premise of this game and about having Enki the fox on board throughout their adventures too. In fairness, there’s nothing quite like an animal companion, is there? The action will take place in third-person view, which means that players will get to take in the highly detailed high-fantasy world setting we’ve been given a sneak peek of in the clip.
While there’s no specific release date yet for Flintlock: The Siege Of Dawn, we know it will be releasing in early 2023. It will be available for Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass on day one, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam.
