What Platforms Will Street Fighter 6 Launch On?

June 10, 2022 by Chirag Pattni

It’s coming to more platforms than its predecessor.

Street Fighter 6 was revealed dramatically just a few months ago. Capcom had created a website with a mysterious timer counting down, and fighting game fans quickly realized that the end of the timer coincided with the finals for the Capcom Pro Tour Street Fighter V tournament.

At the end of the countdown, Street Fighter 6 was revealed with a short teaser trailer that showed fans the new and extremely detailed character models for Ryu and Luke. The game has since received a gameplay trailer at a Sony State of Play that revealed a single-player mode and actual matches between Ryu, Luke, Chun-Li, and newcomer Jamie. We also now know that Guile is returning with a fresh new look.

The latest game in the 34-year-old series is quickly becoming a dream game for Street Fighter fans, but where will you be able to play it when it comes out next year?

Where will I be able to play Street Fighter 6?

The Street Fighter games have traditionally been made available across a wide range of consoles. Street Fighter V was the exception to this as it was only released on PS4 and PC. Thankfully, this won’t be the case for the upcoming release of Street Fighter 6 next year.

Street Fighter 6 will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4, and PS5. It’s important to note that it will not be coming to the last-gen Xbox One, and it will not appear on the Nintendo Switch either. Although, given the impressive graphical fidelity displayed in the trailers for the game, it would have been a stretch to expect it to run on Switch hardware.

The game will be available on a wider range of consoles than its predecessor. That should hopefully result in a larger player base which will help in sustaining the online community around the game. Capcom has confirmed to various gaming outlets that Street Fighter 6 will have rollback netcode and crossplay, which should benefit the online scene immensely.

No matter what platforms it is played on, we can’t wait to get our hands on it next year.
