A recent tweet shared by Ubisoft over on the official Assassin’s Creed account has some players speculating that we could see the 60FPS boost for Xbox Series S/X and PS5 at some point next week. Ahead of Assassin’s Creed Origins’ upcoming release on Xbox Game Pass on June 7th, fans have been asking for an FPS boost for the ancient Egypt-themed Assassin’s Creed game for quite some time, but particularly since the news of its inclusion on Game Pass was revealed earlier this month. The game will be making its way onto Xbox’s subscription service alongside For Honor: Marching Fire Edition as part of the early additions to June’s Game Pass lineup.
The latest Tweet shared on the Assassin’s Creed account appears to tease the potential 60FPS update alongside a gif of Assassin’s Creed Origins‘ hero Bayek, signalling that excited players don’t have too much longer to wait…for something. Whether that’s simply the arrival of the game onto Game Pass or the addition of 60FPS for players on Xbox and PlayStation to enjoy, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Back in December last year, Ubisoft revealed that it was looking into updating Assassin’s Creed Origins to support a glorious 60 frames-per-second, and it seems that the planned release for Game Pass has many players speculating that the boosted version of the game will finally be released as a cherry on the cake for Assassin’s Creed fans planning to jump back into the mysteries of ancient Egypt.
While Assassin’s Creed Origins is already four years old, the fact that Ubisoft has been working on a potential FPS update since last December shows a commitment to the preservation of the much-loved franchise. Whatever happens, there’s not too much longer to wait to find out whether or not players will be traversing the gorgeous deserts of historical Egypt with top-rate smoothness or not when the game hits Xbox Game Pass on June 7th.
