The hugely anticipated upcoming sci-fi shooter game The Cycle: Frontier has been given a release date of June 8th, it has been announced. The free-to-play PvPvE first-person extraction shooter, which is currently sitting at the top of the Steam charts as the most wishlisted free-to-play game, also released a new trailer to celebrate the game’s upcoming launch.
The Cycle: Frontier’s June 8th launch is intended as a pre-season period, with the game planned to launch “in full force” with Season 1 on Wednesday, June 22nd. An update on the game’s website also explains that there will be no progress wipe between the June 8th pre-season and the full launch on June 22nd windows, meaning that players who jump into the game’s extraction-based looting and shooting will be able to carry over their progress into the start of Season 1.
The premise of the game centres on prospecting for resources and other loot on an isolated alien planet, which also happens to be frequently ravaged by a deadly storm, inhabited by deadly creatures, and also constantly being raided by other scavengers. Almost a million players have taken part in the Closed Beta and two Closed Alphas for The Cycle: Frontier, so it’s exciting news to hear that the game is finally ready to soft launch and then go into a full launch in the coming weeks. The beginning of Season 1 will also introduce the game’s first Battle Pass, known as the Fortuna Pass, which will allow players to unlock a whole host of rewards, cosmetics and items.
The Cycle: Frontier is available to wishlist on Steam now and will launch on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on June 8th.
