Hot Wheels Unleashed was a welcome surprise when it came out last year. It gave players an enjoyable racing game that took advantage of the Hot Wheels license to bring the toy cars to life like never before. Now, developer Milestone has unveiled a new Looney Tunes Expansion for the game. The officially licensed collaboration with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will be released across all platforms on July 14th. You can check out a short teaser trailer for the new expansion below.
The official description covers the new content that will be coming to the game. The latest expansion will include 5 new vehicles, new customization items for the Basement and player profiles, and a themed Track Builder Module. It will also feature a new environment called the Looney Tunes Adventure Park, which is seen in the teaser. Looney Tunes Adventure Park is a theme park that is divided into 4 distinct areas, such as the desert where Wile E. Coyote often fails to catch Road Runner.
The Looney Tunes Expansion will be included in the Hot Wheels Pass Vol. 3. Players can also purchase it separately when it releases on July 14th. Hot Wheels Pass Vol. 3 will include the Looney Tunes Expansion as well as 9 new vehicles, 3 Track Builder Modules, and 3 Themed Customisation Packs.
Hot Wheels Unleashed is no stranger to introducing crossover content. Players have already been treated to DLC based on properties like the DC universe, and game franchises like Street Fighter. The Batcave was added as a new environment, and new cars have been made available with unique themes, such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The teaser trailer only shows off a brief section of the new Looney Tunes Adventure Park, but it’s likely that more of the expansion will be shown before its July release date.
