History suggests this leak is legitimate. In 2020 and 2021, the Days of Play sale began on May 25 and May 26, respectively. However, considering May 25 is only two days away, time will soon tell whether this info proves to be true.
Days of Play is a yearly sale in which Sony discounts dozens of PlayStation titles, including both indies and major AAA games. Last year’s event featured huge mark-downs on titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ghost of Tsushima, Demon’s Souls, and The Last of Us 2. Deals on consoles and accessories are also often featured in the lineup, as well as discounted PlayStation Plus subscriptions.
While there is no word yet on what kind of deals will be featured in this year’s Days of Play sale, rumors point towards the Horizon Forbidden West PS5 bundle that was previously leaked but has yet to officially go on sale in the US.
Also of note, PlayStation is launching its revamped PlayStation Plus service in the US on June 13, just a few days after the Days of Play event concludes. It will be interesting to see if Sony’s push to funnel people to its new subscription service will affect what games it chooses to discount for the annual sale.
