The Marvel series on Disney+ are continuing to roll out, and for good reason. Many of them have been hits with fans (with Loki standing out above the rest apparently…), and they’re wanting to keep that momentum going as best they can. Moon Knight ended recently, but on June 6th we’ll get the next installment in the line if you will, and that will be none other than Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel. The character is loved by the comic community, and now it’s time for her to shine in live action.
A new featurette about Kamala Khan has arrived, and they started it out in the most beautiful of ways, by showing how actress Iman Vellani was told, by Kevin Feige herself, that she was going to be Kamala. A pretty cool moment in her life no doubt. Not to mention, many on staff praised Iman for her portrayal of Kamala, something to look forward to.
As for Kamal Khan herself, we get to see new looks at the costume (both her Captain Marvel imitation costume and her actual Ms. Marvel costume) throughout, as well as her “cosmic abilities” that are going to be a departure from the comics.
Either way though, this looks like it’s going to be a rather interesting series, and as the featurette notes, this character is very much going to be one of the big parts of the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not the least of which is because she’s going right from this series to being in “The Marvels” alongside her idol (character-wise) in Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers, as well as Monica Rambeau (who debuted in WandaVision). So it’s going to be an exciting time to be a Kamala Khan character.
The series debuts on June 6th on Disney+, so get ready!
