Loki Is Most-Watched Marvel Disney+ Series So Far

May 17, 2022 by Todd Black

What did you expect?

Loki is the most watched Marvel series on Disney+, says Feige. Production on Season 2 starts in a few weeks “with the whole cast returning.”

When the Marvel series on Disney+ were announced, many were curious about what direction they may, or may not go. Especially if they would go the route of the Arrowverse (which isn’t what it used to be now…) and go for long seasons to flesh them out, or go the Netflix route of short bingeable seasons. They chose the latter for better or worse, and as of right now, they’ve had six release with two more on the way via Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk. But if you want to look at the most popular of the bunch? That would be Loki.

This came from the mouth of Kevin Fiege himself, who noted in a meeting about the upcoming Marvel projects on Disney+ that Loki was the most-watched Marvel Disney+ show of the lot, and he also admitted that Season 2 will bring back all the main characters from the first season.

So, let’s ask the obvious question, why is this series the most popular? The easiest answer is that this is the character that fans have been the most invested with during his time in the MCU, and being played by Tom Hiddleston doesn’t hurt.

So when he got his own series and fans got to see MORE of him playing Loki like a boss? Why wouldn’t they want to go and see it?

What’s more, this was a series that heavily set up Phase 4 of the MCU, including bringing in Kang the Conqueror (or at least a Variant of him) and setting up the Multiverse for Doctor Strange and Spider-man to go and have fun in.
So as you can see, when you add in these things to the mix, you get a series that people are almost compelled to watch, much to the joy of Marvel and Disney.
