Splatoon Testfire Going Global Again, For The Summer Holidays

August 17, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

There are now 1.6 million Inklings splatting each other online, but with 10 million Wii Us sold, there are still a lot more copies Nintendo can sell.

Splatoon Testfire has become truly global again, as Nintendo has confirmed scheduled Testfires for the US and UK.

Testfire was brought back in Japan for August 2 to August 9. Now, Europeans will get the benefit of an hour of playtime for a whole week, from August 22 to 28. They will be live on these times:

19:00 – 20:00 GMT on Saturday 22nd

19:00 – 20:00 GMT on Sunday 23rd

09:00 – 10:00 GMT on Monday 24th

09:00 – 10:00 GMT on Tuesday 25th

15:00 – 16:00 GMT on Wednesday 26th

15:00 – 16:00 GMT on Thursday 27th

15:00 – 16:00 GMT on Friday 28th

Nintendo of America made their announcement for the Splatoon Testfire’s return to North America on the official Splatoon Tumblr account. Their announcement reads as follows:

Happy Monday, Squids! It’s come to our attention that some of our junior squid researchers (that’s you guys!) might not actually have their very own copy of Splatoon yet. Imagine a poor, poor junior squid researcher staring longingly at their Wii U and letting out a sad sigh. If this is a scenario that you’re familiar with, boy howdy have we got a proposition for you!

Visit the Nintendo eShop and download the Splatoon Testfire demo to your Wii U. Launch the demo from 3-5 PM PT on August 21-23 and get ready to get inked!

Splatoon hit one million units worldwide less than a month after release, and most recently went past half a million units in Japan, and also in the US. There are now 1.6 million Inklings splatting each other online, but with 10 million Wii Us sold, there are still a lot more copies Nintendo can sell.

Nintendo is pitching the Testfire in America as 'Testfire Summer Camp', and nearing the end of summer, it's certainly a good time to get you and your friends jumping into the game.

Do you already own Splatoon, or are you one of those fans who will be jumping into the Testfire sessions again? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
