Nintendo had a good month in the US last month, thanks in large part to Splatoon.
They confirmed that Splatoon sold another 85,000 units in its 3rd month. That brings sales up to 540,000 units for this region, and shortly following reports in Japan that the game is now at a total 519,034 units sold. Of course, the game already passed the 1 million mark within its first month, but now it seems set to make that number in these regions as well. Worldwide total sales are now at 1.6 million units.
US hardware sales are also on the upside, with US Wii U sales up 10 % year on year, and 3DS sales up 35 % year on year.
Coincidentally, the flow of free content coming to Splatoon continues, as the highly awaited Rainmaker mode, the latest ranked battle mode, is finally coming live tonight at 7 PM PT.
