Phantasy Star Online 2 launched for South East Asia IPs back in 2012, and has locked out Western IPs for a long time. Earlier today, though, reports have surfaced that this is no longer the case.
It appears that the free-to-play MMORPG has decided to open its doors to Western players, though there is still no word on why they’ve decided to do this. Do note that this appears to still be the SEA version, and the English translations may not be the best, but the game is fully playable.
You can go to their official website now and download the game, but some folks caution that due to the sudden nature of this event, IP block may also come back. We’re not saying you should cower in fear of that, though! Go download it and play, and keep your fingers crossed that the removal of IP block wasn’t just due to some glitch.
