The first Nintendo Direct of 2022 began with a major announcement. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes–set in the same universe as Fire Emblem: Three Houses–is coming to the Nintendo Switch on June 24, 2022. Much like Three Houses, this new installment will follow Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude. This will be a collaboration between Nintendo and Koei Tecmo, so rather than using tactics during battle, players defeat battlefield filled with enemies in third-person hack and slash combat.
According to Nintendo, while Three Hopes will take place in the same universe as Three Houses, this new installment will offer an entirely different story for players.

Nintendo describes the game as follows:
Edelgard, Dimitri, Claude, and other Fire Emblem: Three Houses characters return to put their combat expertise on display as you revisit a war-torn Fódlan.
Unleash devastating combos and striking special moves in action-packed, real-time combat
Cut through hordes of enemies as characters from the Fire Emblem: Three Houses game. Take down dozens of foes with Edelgard’s axe or Dimitri’s lance, or blast enemies from a distance with Claude’s bow. Slash, swing, and spear your way to a brighter future for Fódlan.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses launched for the Switch in July 2019. As of March 2020, it had sole 2.87 million copies worldwide, making it the single best-selling game in the series. Fire Emblem Warriors launched in September 2017 as a sort of ‘spin-off’ of the series, featuring more hack-and-slash elements. It was also handled entirely by Koei Tecmo.
