Hidden Deep a “2D Action & Exploration Sci-Fi thriller” has been released today on Steam. Accompanying the launch of the game is a new release trailer that gives gamers a closer look at this unique new title. Check out the release trailer below.
Hidden Deep takes place over a mile under the ocean floor and feels very reminiscent of the Alien movies. Here’s the full description of the game from Cogwheel Software.
Hidden Deep is a 2D Action & Exploration Sci-Fi thriller which action takes more than mile under the ocean floor. A group of researchers detected there some strange anomalies of unknown nature and organized an expedition to examine this mysterious phenomenon. After 681 days contact with the researchers suddenly breaks off. At this point you are entering as the leader of the second team who must check what happened there.
Hidden Deep is an old-school game inspired by classic Sci-Fi games and movies of the 80’s and 90’s (mainly Aliens, The Thing, Half-Life (1)) an addictive bit of dark plot. Very much emphasis was placed on richness and quality of character animations and general realism (as for 2D game). The game is running on its own engine with physics simulation and destructive terrain.
Cogwheel Software
Cogwheel Software is the work of a single developer and, as such, the game has been released into Steam Early Access first. Despite releasing in Early Access, the game is described as being “a stable and polished core experience.” It’s estimated that the game will be available in Early Access for “6-8 months” while the rest of the game is improved and added upon. Cogwheel Software is hoping to receive feedback from players that can help improve the experience of Hidden Deep now that it is available in Steam Early Access.
Hidden Deep launches today on PC. The game is available as part of Steam Early Access.
