A few days ago, we mentioned that Tanya was coming to Mortal Kombat X as DLC. We had the rather vague release window of “early June” as our marker. Turns out, she’ll be coming out really early (for some). Tanya is set for release on June 2nd for owners of the Kombat Pack, and will be sold separately come June 9th, as confirmed by this tweet from creator Ed Boon.
The Edenian warrior is a veteran of the Mortal Kombat universe who made her first appearance was in Mortal Kombat 4, and her look and fighting style has changed a bit over the years. She’s looking fiercer than ever, keeping her glowing eyes from her MK: Deception appearance, but getting what appears to be a slightly more practical combat outfit. Her kobu-jutsu weapon style is being brought back for this iteration, and she’ll also be wielding a naginata this time around.
Tanya is the third DLC fighter to be released for Mortal Kombat X, right after Goro and Jason Voorhees. Everyone’s looking pretty good so far, and we’re pretty excited to see the rest of the roster get filled in the coming months.
