Mortal Kombat X To Release Tanya in Early June

May 25, 2015 by Vanessa Lopa

She’s not exactly a new girl, and we’re happy to have her.

Mortal Kombat X was released last April with an already impressive roster. They brought together old and new alike, but saved some characters for DLC. A lot of people are pretty happy with having Jason Voorhees (of Friday the 13th fame) in the game, but for those who still aren’t satisfied: Someone new is coming. NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon has announced that Tanya will be showing up in early June.

You might have seen Tanya in Mortal Kombat 4, where she stood out from the rest of the female ninja characters because she didn’t wear a mask. She was also inDeception, where she was revealed to have been corrupted by evil. She kept her original yellow and black color scheme from MK4, but this time with longer hair.Mortal Kombat X Tanya keeps the color scheme, but now has shorter hair and a slightly fancier outfit and a new weapon: the naginata. It should be interesting to see how one of the few female henchmen in Mortal Kombat will be like in this installment. Not much is known about her at the moment, as she is a post-release character, but it looks like she’ll be a great addition to the roster.

There is no specific date set for Tanya’s release, and while this is great, we can’t forget about Predator and Tremor. Those two are slated for release at a later date, but we’re pretty sure fans want them ASAP. You can pick up Mortal Kombat X for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
