The RPG renaissance is alive and well with the likes of recent releases, and it's set to continue with InXile's Torment: Tides of Numenera. Today, the studio behind the game released a fantastic new trailer advertising the game's Numenera setting–the Ninth World.
Judging from the trailer, it looks like Torment is taking many (good) cues from its spiritual prodecessor, Planescape: Torment, offering an out-of-this-world setting that's equal parts science fiction and fantasy. We liked the concept so much that we named it one of our best games of 2014–back before we had a release date for the title, which is now 'late 2015.'
While the studio intends to launch a campaign for The Bard's Tale IV on Kickstarter, it appears to be hard at work at Torment, which itself was only made possible with a Kickstarter success.
You can read more about what InXile's plans are in our exclusive interview with Brian Fargo, who spoke to us about Torment, The Bard's Tale IV, and Wasteland 2.
Anyway, I’ve rambled on for long enough. Check out the trailer.
