Silent Hills publisher Konami has officially confirmed the cancellation of the game, which was rumored over the weekend to have gotten the axe after one of its creators, Guillermo del Toro, tweeted that the game was no longer happening.
In a statement to Kotaku, Konami wrote:
"Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic ‘Silent Hills' project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued.
"In terms of Kojima and del Toro being involved, discussions on future Silent Hill projects are currently underway, and please stay tuned for further announcements."
This is disappointing news for anyone who was expecting a Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima-driven horror game.
