Check Out 30 Minutes of Majora’s Mask 3D

January 16, 2015 by Tony Ponce

Song of Double Time now lets you jump to any hour in the future.

YouTuber Nick Robinson was lucky enough to get early hands-on time with The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D and has shared half an hour of gameplay footage. Check it out above to see what has been improved over the N64 original.

We had learned previously that there had been tweaks to the Bombers' Notebook and save system. At the 8:50 mark, Nick takes us through the revised Bombers' Notebook, which lists "Ongoing Events," "Rumored Events," and "Completed Events" for each NPC, as well as where and when to find them during said events. You can even set up an alarm to let you know when an event has begun.

At the 9:50 mark, Nick discusses the new feather statues, which have actually replaced the Owl Statues from before (although they look almost identical). There are now more statues scattered about the world, making fast-travel a lot easier, and they guarantee permanent rather than temporary saves. Furthermore, the Song of Double Time, used in the original game to skip 12 hours at a time, can now be used to jump ahead to any hour you choose.

Watch the video to hear more details, like the return of the Sheikah Stones, the hint video-dispensing fixtures from Ocarina of Time 3D. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D will land on 3DS on February 13.
