2020 had quite a few anticipated video game titles and hardware launches. However, none of us could have predicted just what 2020 would bring. This year was filled with low moments thanks mostly to the coronavirus health pandemic outbreak. In a very short amount of time, the world changed drastically to how we handled our daily routines. Ultimately, this resulted in several delays in the video game industry which means that the studios that were anticipating a launch in 2020 have since adjusted their release schedule towards 2021.
However, there were still the releases of the next-generation hardware console platforms, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Likewise, one of the most anticipated video game titles of the past few years also saw a launch into the marketplace before 2021 hit, Cyberpunk 2077. For years, Cyberpunk 2077 was an incredibly hyped RPG title, and for good reason. This was a title being developed by CD Projekt Red which was responsible for The Witcher trilogy. While fans were eager to get their hands on a copy, there was less enthusiasm for the game when it finally did release.
Instead, fans were quick to take towards the internet to showcase just how many bugs and issues there were with this title. Cyberpunk 2077 looked rushed and the comments made about the title before its launch have even led to investors filing lawsuits against CD Projekt Red. Despite all this, there were plenty of critics to give the title high remarks. Still, you can’t overlook all the bugs that featured within the game and it’s requiring CD Projekt Red to continue pushing out more updates in hopes of fixing the title up for fans across all the available platforms.
While the development studio has their work cut out for them, some fans are also lending a hand through the use of mods. One mod that was just released helps give NPCs a bit of adjustment. Now it’s not a huge overhaul to the pedestrian system, but this mod does make a few tweaks that allow the NPCs to detect collision a bit sooner allowing crowds to adjust their pathways. This mod also allows crowds to group a bit closer together. Unfortunately, those that were wanting something a bit more substantial to the behavior change might be let down, but it’s at least a step in the right direction.
