It looks like Diddy Kong will be among the list of playable characters in Mario Kart 8. Instead of getting a game of his own, he’ll be a part of the playable repertoire of characters in the upcoming Mario-themed game.
Earlier today, we saw a look at a leaked list of characters that would be making it into the game, and now we have confirmation from a Spanish issue of the Official Nintendo Magazine (link) that Diddy Kong, among other characters, will be playable in the upcoming game.
The pertinent excerpt on the website reads: “Mario Kart 8 most anticipated game of racing history comes to Wii U. We'll tell you all circuits, drivers, power-ups …”
Besides Diddy Kong, there’s Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Daisy, Rosalina (who goes by Estela in Spain), Koopalings, Baby Mario, Yoshi, Baby Daisy, Baby Luigi, and Baby Peach.
With any luck, we’ll be seeing Dixie and Cranky Kong next.
