Xbox Series X Retailer Packaging Revealed

September 10, 2020 by Dennis Patrick

Get ready for the console launch this November.

Microsoft is gearing up for their launch of the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S. This has been quite the unusual year and with the world going under a massive health pandemic outbreak that is the coronavirus, it was a bit uncertain at the beginning of 2020 if Sony along with Microsoft could bring out their next-generation video game consoles. The virus is certainly not swaying the manufacturers from delivering their video game consoles as both plan to release their console into the market this holiday season. With that said, there was a long wait to see which company would make the first move on revealing its price and release date.

Microsoft finally took the first move and unveiled not only their Xbox Series S, a console that was highly rumored and supposedly leaked, but also their release date and price point for both consoles. The Xbox Series X will come in at $499 while the Xbox Series S will release for $299. Both consoles will be available for preorder on September 22, 2020, and from there you can expect the consoles to hit the marketplace on November 10, 2020. Now we even have the Xbox Series X packaging for retailers which you can see above.

This photo comes from The Source, a Canadian electronics retailer that has since removed the listing. But fans were quick enough to take the image and share it around the internet. As you can see the retail packaging showcases the top of the Xbox Series X among some of the specifications that players can expect such as 120 FPS in 4K along with the console sporting 1TB of SSD storage.

At any rate, we don’t know what the Xbox Series S retail packaging looks like yet. This console model was introduced rather abruptly online when it was leaked. We know that it can run the same games on the Xbox Series X but rather than being in 4K they will be in 1440p. Furthermore, it’s a physically smaller console. While we are waiting to see this console packaging emerge online, most are turning their attention to Sony who has yet to make an announcement regarding when the console will release this year and how much the unit will cost players.
